Club Advisory Handbook
Club Advisor's Handbook
Advising a student club? We’re so glad to have you on board! Every student club at Delta Charter needs a staff advisor (for sports, that’s usually the coach and Athletic Director). We also have Traci Sprague, who is the Activities Director and the Head ASB Advisor supporting the general student council.
Advisors must be certificated staff and familiar with district and state guidelines for student activities. As an advisor, you are a key support for your students and a connection point between their club, the ASB Bookkeeper, and school leadership.
What You’ll Do as an Advisor
- Guide students through how clubs and ASB work, and make sure rules are followed
- Support club elections and help student leaders understand their roles
- Approve spending with a student officer
- Ensure clubs meet regularly and keep minutes
- Help students with budgeting and financial reports
- Make sure all spending is appropriate and approved
- Keep a club constitution on file, and follow it
- Supervise activities to ensure student safety
- Follow all district cash handling procedures
- Report any suspected misuse of funds
When clubs fundraise, you’ll help students plan, track funds, and turn everything in with the correct forms. Students do the work, you are there to guide and support.
